Free Water Conservation Kit
We can extend the lifespan of our water supply and contribute to a greener Sioux Falls through proper water conservation. All city residents can pick up a free water conservation kit to get started. The kit includes simple devices such as a low flow shower head, a garden hose attachment and water tablets that can help you conserve water around your home.

Sioux Falls Rebate Programs
Replacing old, inefficient water-using devices can save thousands of gallons each year. Sioux Falls Public Works offers rebate programs for replacing your washing machines and toilets with new, energy-efficient appliances.
Washing Machine Rebate
Families can conserve energy and save an average of $50 per year in water and sewer charges by upgrading to a high-efficiency washing machine.
If you’re a residential single family Sioux Falls Utilities water customer, you may be entitled to a rebate for up to $125 toward purchase of a qualifying water-efficient clothes washer. To receive a rebate, complete an application and provide proof of purchase with a copy of a sales receipt from a Sioux Falls retailer. A home inspection to confirm purchase and installation of the appliance will be required. Call Sioux Falls Public Works at 605-367-8600 for details.
Toilet Rebate
Sioux Falls residents may be entitled to rebates for new, low flow toilet purchases. To qualify, you must be a residential Sioux Falls Utilities water customer, have a house, bathroom remodel or bathroom addition that was completed before 1992 and have an existing toilet date-stamped earlier than 1992.
Single families may qualify for a rebate up to $75 toward the purchase and installation of a new
toilet. You can also receive an additional $60 for a second bathroom and $50 for each additional bathroom. Multiple family residences qualify for a rebate up to $50 toward the purchase and installation of each new, water-efficient toilet. Call Sioux Falls Public Works at 605-367-8600 for details.
Rain Sensor Retrofit Program
If you have an automatic lawn irrigation system, we encourage you to retrofit a rain sensor into your existing irrigation system. This device can significantly reduce the amount of water you use on your lawn. Sioux Falls offers rebates to offset the cost of installing this sensor.
